Essential oils are the protective qualities of a plant in a concentrated form. They are distilled from shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, bushes, seeds, wood, rind, berries, or leaves. They can be applied topically, aromatically, and internally if the bottle has a health supplement fact on the bottle that says it can be taken internally. Each essential oil has different protective qualities when applied topically, aromatically, or internally the body takes the essential oils in and it is used to support an area in the body. Some essential oils support the cardiovascular system, digestive system, emotions, endocrine system, immune system, lymphatic system, muscular system, nervous system, reproductive system, respiratory system, skeletal system, and the integumentary system.
Add-On: Recommended Stretches $0
After the massage, therapist gives one stretch to do for homework to help release muscle tension. Pointer for stretching. Go into stretch slowly and come out of stretch slowly. When slowly moving into a stretch, go further until one feels a slight stretch. If one over stretches, the next few days, those muscles could feel like an achy kind of pain. Hold stretch for at least 10-15 seconds, doing reps up to 1-2 minutes, on one side. Doing the same repetitive movement or staying in the same position all the time can cause muscles to become really tight. Stretching tells the muscles, that they can relax. The more one stretches, the more the muscles relax.
Add-On: Stretches During Massage $0
During Swedish Massage or Deep Tissue/Treatments Massage therapist can add stretches. Joints involved in stretching: neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, or ankle. Swedish Massage stretches: assisted range of motion, moving neck, arm, or legs until client feels a stretch. For Deep Tissue/Treatments it is a assisted range of motion stretch with compression the muscle, to assist the muscle in relaxing/releasing. If would like a Swedish massage with more of a focus of stretching the neck, arms, or legs. Please let therapist know before the massage.
Add-On: Abdominal Massage $0
The stomach area/abdominal muscles are massaged. For Swedish the purpose is to aid in digestion. If someone struggles with digestive issues, massage is used as a way to go along with the flow of the digestive tract, for the purpose of aiding in the process of digestion. For deep tissue, sometimes one's hip flexors are tight. They can be causing lower back or but/glute muscle pain. It can be really helpful for some to go in through the abdominal muscles to reach these deep muscles and release them.
